MSNBC - Panama Cheapest Place on Earth

MSNBC has a nice little article about Panama entitled Cheapest Place on Earth. I am sure there must be cheaper places, but that is definitely one of the many attractions of living here.

As a semi-starving artist OSS developer this is definitely a hell of a lot cheaper than bumming it out in London or Boston.

Apartments are cheap. You can get a fairly decent place for less than $400 furnished in a central location. The article mentions taxis across town are $4. For $4 you could get from the center and out to Flamenco the party islands connected by a causeway to the mainland. You can get anywhere in the center of town for a $1. (always add about a quarter per extra person though)

Burger King Whoppers are a buck, a 12inch pizza about $3. Tenderloin steak $4-5. A beer is about 35 cent a can. A bottle of Rum less than $4.

We also have some kickass beaches and more uninhabitated islands than probably anyone except for Australia.

If you like clubbing (or simply like to checkout the honeys) checkout Dealante or Panama 2night for where the buzz is tonight.
