I wanted to take advantage of the 150 upgrade to IDEA 5.0 before September 1st. I am doing very little Java at the moment, but I will be doing some in the next two months or so.
The only problem is I couldn’t find the email I received with the license key during my last upgrade. I think it dissapeared during the second of 3 major hard disk failures I’ve had in the past year and a half. Luckily I have been guarding my idea40.key file on various backups.
I made an inquiry via the JetBrains web site asking if I could send it to them and within 30 minutes I got a reply from Lucie at JetBrains with a handy direct link to upgrade with my license key already filled in. There was no need to send the my license key. I think this is wonderful service. Many places force you to fight through all sorts of complicated procedures. Thank you Lucie for making it easy to upgrade.
Another great thing is that I have yet to experience a purchase done in the EU where they have asked me for my VAT number and not charged me anyway for the VAT. Well today JetBrains managed to change that and made my day even happier.
